Senior .NET/SQL Developer

Description:
The Oakleaf Group has an immediate need for a Senior .NET/SQL Developer for an important project in downtown Washington D.C. on site at our Federal Agency client. This client is very metro-accessible – their offices are located in the same building as a downtown Metro stop. There is a possibility of telecommuting, but only after candidate has become firmly established at the client location as a strong member of the team and as one who is a self-starter.

As Senior .NET/SQL Developer you will be working to develop innovative solutions to improve emergency preparedness and increase the safety of our nation's airspace. You will be responsible for implementing security incident and emergency notification applications on a Microsoft platform. Other duties will include assisting in the management of collaborative internet/intranet sites and workflows for numerous Agency lines of businesses.

Candidate should be experienced working with Active Directory, WSS, InfoPath, and SQL Reporting Services. Human/computer interaction, business process improvement, and knowledge management skills are important.

Successful candidates will have some or all of the following experience and qualifications:

  • The job may entail the following tasks:
  • Migrate Oracle applications and databases to WSS 3.0 and supporting technologies.
  • Migrate Coldfusion and Access applications to WSS 3.0 etc.
  • Design/develop middleware layer to handle business logic and notification workflow.
  • Design/develop data mining and search tools.
  • Assist team in the development of virtual offices, collaborative team workspaces, and appropriate tools to manage content, knowledge, and real-time awareness.

Required Experience:

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience in software and web development and SDLC.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Current Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
  • BS/BA or equivalent; MS in IT, IS, or CS is preferred.
  • HTML, XSLT, Javascript, and ASP.NET. - Visual Studio .NET and VB.NET or C#.
  • SQL Server 2000 or 2005 - Knowledge of WSS, Oracle, and Coldfusion.
  • Experience with Microsoft InfoPath or XML based UI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WSS 3.0, web part development, and web services.
  • Experience with migrating Oracle applications and COTS integration.
  • SQL Reporting Services and Biztalk is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with Google Earth or GIS mapping tools a plus.
